Carifiesta Montreal

The Montreal Carifiesta, Carifête in French, also known as “Jump Up” within the Afro Caribbean community is the second largest Caribbean festival in Canada, this major summer event that takes place every July since 1974 brings together approximately 500,000 people at its annual parade dancing to Latin, Afro-Caribbean rhythms like Soca and Calypso, and Indian music.

Colourful floats, interspersed with fancifully costumed characters, represent a host of nations and traditions. It is at its core a celebration of Caribbean culture, heritage and lifestyle.

Carifiesta Montreal Date:
The Montreal Carifiesta is taking place on July 6, 2019 at 12:00 Noon.

The Carifiesta Parade usually lasts around two to three hours depending on the number of floats and bands participating, and there are plenty of parties around the city happening around the main event including the day before and the night of.

The Montreal Carifiesta is taking place on St. Catherine Street starting on Fort Street and ending at Phillips Square.
