Montreal Transportation Network

The city of Montreal disposes of a vast Transportation Network that connects the island of Montreal to its major mainland regions to the North and to the South and facilitates the efficient movement of people and cargo across the city. Combining both public and private means of transportation as well as the road network the City of Montreal Transportation Network is connected to the rest of Quebec, Canada and the world through an array of air, rail, road and maritime channels.

Within the City of Montreal itself the transportation network is anchored by the Société de transport de Montréal, translated approximately as the Montreal Transportation Corporation, the third most heavily used public transit system in North America. With its vast network of trains, subways and buses the Société de transport de Montréal moves upwards of 2 million Montrealers across the city on an average day.
