Crescent Street Montreal

One of’s absolute favourite streets in Montreal. Crescent street is a mix of the local and the international side of Montreal. There are some of Montreal’s all time classic bars and pubs such as the Sir Winston’s Churchill Pub and Thursday’s bar and restaurant along with other newer dining establishments and bars.

Far more than a place for bars and restaurants Crescent street is also a place that hosts various street festivals and public gatherings including the almost week long celebrations that take place during the Montreal Formula 1 Grand Prix race.

For a very long time and probably at its peak in the 1980’s Crescent street was party central in Montreal, the place where both locals and visitors would go to the most happening bars, clubs and restaurants. With the passage of time and the rise of St Laurent street in the 1990’s Crescent street took a lesser role in the night time entertainment of the city.

As the night time scene in Montreal has now migrated to the Old Port of Montreal and other cool neighbourhoods such as Griffintown or off the island to the suburbs North and South of Montreal Crescent street maintains its role as a place to have some drinks and dinner in an unpretentious and down to earth environment that is so Montreal.
